Pride Month 2023
It's the start of Pride Month and I want to wish everyone a happy month of gayness! Stay safe out there and be sure to use protection. I hope we can learn to accept one another and we can all keep an open mind to the possible ways that one can be a member of the community. Everyone belongs here and who you love or how you identify can never change that!
We should not be trying to divide our community up because that will only serve to weaken us. The bad people will see us all as degenerates anyways so there's no use trying to cut someone out in order to better our position in society. Then again, even if it works, it's still morally bankrupt.
Imagine a world where we all could just exist happily. I want a world like that and I hope you do too. Let's try to build that world ourselves! It will take work to learn how and even more work to do it but I think it's definitely possible if we all put in the effort.
Whether you're a sexual or gender minority, or your identity is atypical in some other way, you belong at pride. Pride is for all of us, even the nonhuman ones and the ones who share bodies with multiple people and for polyamorous people too.
Also remember that with all of these new discoveries pride is also about our roots too. Pride is for sexuality and kink and the history of lgbtqia+ people who came before us.
Don't forget that everyone who identifies as queer in some way is valid. All queer identities deserve their chance to shine. Even if the words used to describe an identity seem contradictory to you, that doesn't mean they don't belong here or that they aren't real, or even that they are actually contradictory. Every identity is as real as the person that uses them. Please respect all people with any identity.
We all deserve to be loved and accepted for who we are and we are all beautiful in our own ways. Keep that in mind this month and keep your mind open to new ideas and new interpretations of current ideas. You never know where you might find someone who just needs a little love.
