Futanari Gender Identity in English Speaking Communities
"Futanari" when used in english language is a gender identity that fits under the umbrella of "altersex". It can also be used by intersex people. It should not be used for anyone unless they have made clear that it's okay to use the term for them, either by saying so or by using the term for themselves. This is because it is considered a slur by some and although reclaimed by many, it is not entirely accepted by all in the lgbtq+ community. The implication of the term is that the one for which it is used would have sex characteristics or a mental body plan that involves sex characteristics that are opposed to one another, specifically an expectation of a penis and a vagina, alongside some form of feminine gender expression or identity.
Some futanari people consider themselves girls, others consider themselves a mixture of genders, and yet still others might consider "futanari" their only gender. Although "futanari" is widely accepted as a subset of "dickgirl" do not assume the gender identity of someone who identifies as a futanari, since some might not want to be called a "girl" at all.
Futanari is a japanese word originally, but in english speaking communities it is used differently from its original meaning. Because of its origins, the plural of "futanari" is also "futanari". It can be shortened to "futa" but when it's shortened, its plural form becomes "futas".
