Existential Denial
Futanari are rarely represented in media outside of pornography and reactions to said pornography. Futas are reacted to by the media and the general public as inherently sexual individuals, somewhat like how transgender people were treated in the 90s. The idea that we should be treated with respect rarely crosses the minds of anyone that hears of our existence. In fact, most people tend to believe we are entirely fictional and do not exist in reality, and therefore they tend to think that they can treat all futas however they want since we are simply what they believe to be a "persona" that people put on to act out fictions, (usually thought to be erotica).
A lot of futas hide their true identity behind the facade of "trans girl" and while that may be somewhat accurate and possibly even entirely true for some futanari, it can be exhausting having to alter your identity to fit with what is expected of you in order to find community.
Still other futanari might even deny to themselves that they are futanari, seeing it as inherently sexual in the same way other people around them do and fearing rejection or judgement, deny it outright in entirety as a possible label.
In a partial effort to help young futas find themselves, I have created a discord server to help foster community among futanari. We are all in this together and we all deserve to be treated with respect, regardless of how other people see our identity.
I don't claim to know what the right way forward is. Perhaps we should deny the claim that we are inherently sexual, or perhaps we could embrace it in a fit of nonconformity. Since it's not true that all of us are inherently sexual beings, I tend to lean towards the former, but I am completely open to the latter if it helps our cause of acceptance of our identity in society. One thing I am certain of though is that we ought never throw any other identity under the bus, no matter how strange they might seem to us, or how the wider lgbtqia+ community sees them.
